Masterpiece Carving! Magnificent Movement!

How is an artist able to convey "movement" through a stone carving?!

Not all carvers have this ability BUT Derrald Taylor has that talent!

Look at his Orcas, and his drumming Bears and you will hear the drum beating as the bear's arm comes down on the drum over and over and over.

The caramel colour of the African (Kenyan) kisi soapstone charges the carving with a warm but energetic spirit.

I can't imagine any other colour of stone for his Dancing Drumming bears.

Derrald is a gift to the art world.

His work is always inspirational and heart warming.

When the sunlight strikes Standing Proud, the stone radiates energy and warmth.

Each meticulously carved detail bears witness to Derrald's commitment to perfection.

Notice the "braiding" down the backs of the legs, arms, and down the chest.

This is one of Taylor's SIGNATURE carving features.

Taylor's carvings are pure magic.
